Developed with fitness trainer Kelsey Heenan, the program invites users to get healthy and strong with TV’s “Pretty Little Liars” star Shay Mitchell
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
The Beachbody Company, Inc.
(NYSE: BODI) (“BODi” or the “Company”), a leading fitness and nutrition company, today announced that the “4 Weeks of Focus” fitness program led by world-class fitness trainer Kelsey Heenan and featuring actress and entrepreneur Shay Mitchell, best known for her role as Emily in TV’s
Pretty Little Liars
and brand Beis, has launched into BODi’s catalog of structured, proven fitness programs.
The program is now included with a BODi subscription and is also available for customers to
purchase on BODi.com
and own digital access forever for just $59.95.
WHAT IS 4 WEEKS OF FOCUS
4 Weeks of Focus was designed for anyone looking to get into and stay in great shape with an easy-to-follow program made up of twenty unique workouts over 4 weeks - 5 days a week, 30-45 minutes a day.
With Kelsey leading, it
feels like working out with Shay under the supervision of a celebrity personal trainer.
For those just starting out, modifications are shown for all fitness levels. Kelsey uses
metabolic strength training
, a technique that blends resistance work with cardio to keep the pace fast and the rest short. More calories are burned in less time with back-to-back moves performed in supersets, tri-sets, and circuits that help supercharge metabolism and maximize muscle and strength gains. Metabolic strength training also increases post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), the “afterburn” effect that helps keep burning calories and fat even after the workout is over.
Strength training has surged in popularity over the past few years due to emerging health research and as a response to side-effects from weight loss drugs. A study from the Journal of American College of Cardiology found that women who do strength training exercises two to three days a week are more likely to live longer and have a lower risk of death from heart disease. According to a 2023 Mindbody consumer survey, more than 60% of consumers incorporate weight or strength training into their routine, with over half who do so working out 2–4 times per week.
SHAY’S RESULTS
Shay’s impressive physical results after completing 4 Weeks of Focus caused a social media stir and were featured across multiple media outlets including
Women’s Health, Shape, Us Weekly, Yahoo, Good Morning America, FOX
and others. Visible transformation aside, getting healthy and strong was the key for this mother of two.
“I loved getting up each day over the four weeks and having a routine and a challenge to start the day. It made me feel healthy, energetic and engaged,” said Shay. Also “For me, it was always about a deadlift. Getting up to 50 pounds was amazing. I was really proud of myself.”
“Developing 4 Weeks of Focus for Shay was an incredible experience and I’m so proud of the program and her results,” said celebrity trainer Kelsey Heenan. “I set out to show everyone that in just about 30 minutes, five days a week for four weeks, you can make major progress-- whether you're an actress, teacher, mom, or anything in between. Based on the results people have achieved and getting messages from so many who completed the program - shows me we succeeded. And now with the program going into the BODi library, so many more people will have a chance to experience these results too.”
“I see back muscles, strength and confidence. I have never felt this strong in my life. Thank you Kelsey! I’m now on Round 2, Week 4.” Amy B.
“I’ve gained so much strength, confidence and appreciation for my body throughout this program, and I’ve lost 15 pounds.” Jennifer W.
“So, I noticed a BIG change in my body last night. My peach!!!! There’s more there now!? But, like, in a good way! It’s muscular and lifted. I’m totally digging it.” Mariellen M.
“Shay is a change agent, a true entrepreneur and innovator. For years we’ve wanted to work with an A-list star to influence millions of people to see how fast you can get results, and how rewarding it can feel to finish a program,” said Carl Daikeler, CEO and co-founder of BODi. “The reality show experience of working out along with Shay with crazy good training by Kelsey will make 4 Weeks of Focus a new crown jewel of the BODi catalog.”
